For a collector, the early production and the last production usually have a particular meaning.For sure the Mauser production under French control is
very collectable, representing the last effort made by Mauser before its destruction. In this framework, the pistol number 3334 has a particular role; in
fact it represents the last known Parabellum assembled, most probably in France (MAC), reported by the collecting community. Interesting also that
the last Parabellum reported is an Artillery variation.
The following pictures show the LP08 sn 3334 along with the LP08 sn 456, which belong to the second variation. In addition to the difference in the
numbering rule, the LP08 sn 3334 differs from the previous LP08 because the rear tangent sight meter is blued (left) and because of the absence of
the step on the frame to accept the back under edge of the sight block. It has been stressed before that the 200 long barrels available in MAC were
unfinished. This justifies the fact that the barrel associated with the pistol 3334 has the rear tangent sight meter blued; this long barrel had been
finished in the MAC facility. Another bit of evidence of the assembling in France is the fact that the step on the frame is missing...
